Bringing Sexy Back

Tomorrow - 34 hours from now - Justin Timberlake will be bringing sexy back into my life.

Needless to say, I'm oh so very excited.

I Wonder

Is it still called organization when I have 4 separate "To Do" lists?

(I took that picture with my phone and couldn't figure out how to get it any bigger. You get the idea.)

"Secret Admire"

My church calling is to pass around a "Compliment Basket" every Sunday for people to write notes to other people in the ward. Then I gather them all up and deliver them. It's as exciting and fulfilling as it sounds.

About a month ago someone wrote a note to my hometeacher but I haven't seen him since then to give it to him. He came over tonight for a visit and I took that opportunity to "deliver" his note. After he left I noticed it sitting on the ottoman.

He wouldn't have left it there if it was personal, right? That's what I thought.

So I read it. And then I read it out loud to Lindsay.

Notice anything funny about this note?

Maybe that's why I'm not dating anyone...I'm not quite dumb enough. Huh.

We Go Way Back

Last night I had a dream that Jessica Biel and I were friends. It wasn't like I just knew of her or we were acquaintances, but we were BFF childhood friends - classes together, sleepovers, the whole bit.

I have no idea where this came from. I didn't watch 7th Heaven and I can't even think of anything else she's been in.

But her and Justin are really happy together, in case you were wondering.

Today

-Carlee + homemade lunch = Stephanie going to lunch alone

-I just saw a co-worker with a giant container of black pepper on his desk. When I say giant I mean the kind you'd buy at Costco. I just don't know why that would be necessary.

-I'm still obsessed with Michael Buble and I'm worried that it won't ever go away. There's no end in sight. Although, watching a YouTube clip of him "rapping" on Rove (some Australian show) did have a negative effect on the obsession. It was just embarrassing.

-Tut, tut. Looks like rain. That makes me happy.

-I'm going to Institute tonight for the first time a few years. I might be looking forward to it?

-I woke up to Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" this morning. Quite the way to start the day.

-I just realized that I haven't had Subway in over a month. I'm over it. But my new favorite sandwich spot doesn't have BBQ Baked Lays which could be enough to drive me back to Subway at some point.

-Today marks the start of my "Justin Timberlake Brush-up". I need to get ready for Vegas in a week and a half.

I Saw the Sign.

I was at lunch for approximately 1.5 hours today and came back to ZERO new emails. That's almost unheard of.

I'm taking it as a sign that I should leave early today.

More Subway Complaints

Carlee sent this cartoon to me today. It proves my point that people do care about random sandwich making practices.

Subway should take notes. You're welcome, Subway.
My favorite part is the caption under fig. 3-"soul-crushing disappointment"-because that's how I feel about unfolded meat!

Wonderful

I'm currently listening to a song from the Wicked soundtrack that I've never heard before - "Wonderful". After all this time how could I have completely missed a song?

I'd better brush up before September 15th.

I'm Ranked.

I've been getting a lot of random people visiting my blog lately so I decided to see what they were searching for that brought them to my lovely little blog.

One person searched for "fugs n jugs" and got this post on the second page of results. (I had forgotten how funny that nickname really was.)

Another person searched for "michael buble's pbs concert on youtube" and got this post in the sixth position of the results.

But, by far most people are searching for the lyrics of the song, "All at Once" by The Fray: "sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same" and look what happens...
If you can't really see it, that's my blog ranked in the first natural search position on Yahoo! First of 4,450,000 results.

Boy, I bet they were disappointed when they clicked on the link thinking they were getting lyrics to a song but got my random thoughts instead. Suckers.

Be Prepared

Last night Lindsay and I started our annual preparation for the new season of Grey's Anatomy. We made it through disc one of season one. We need to pick up the pace if we're going to make it all the way through before September 11th!

Over the past few months I've forgotten how much I love this show.

Remember this?

A Pair Most Rare

A week and a half ago my friend, Brandi, stopped by SLC for a few days on her way to California. Brandi is my oldest friend and we are nearly complete opposites. I think that's what makes our friendship so much fun.

I don't remember how we became friends. She lived a few blocks over from my house and I remember one day one of my siblings came home from a bike ride and said, "Brandi's on her front porch". So I hopped on the pegs and we rode past her house. I don't know if that was the start of it all, but we've been friends since Mrs. Howe's second grade class and most of my childhood memories involve her.

She's visited Utah twice before - once during my freshman year at BYU and once more my senior year - so she knew what to expect.

Minutes after she arrived, we headed over to USANA for The Fray concert. It was a beautiful night and the show was great.
We had fun people-watching before the show started.
Brandi, Me, Lindsay and Erin.

Brandi said she could never live in Utah because the people are "too pretty". She has a point.

The next day I had to work, but afterward we hit downtown Salt Lake City. Because the previous times she had visited I was living in Provo, we hadn't spent much time in SLC.

The mother of a bride took this picture and it was an adventure.

The third day we wanted to get some good scenery shots. Despite the fact that I've lived in Utah for seven years and been in SLC for two of those, I had no idea where to go. We wandered around and eventually ended up driving through Emmigration Canyon. It was beautiful.
First stop was the This is the Place Monument. I'd never been there before and it was kind of cool.

A cyclist rode past and yelled "Myspace!" as we were taking this shot. We were a little baffled.
I forget what this place was called but we liked it! Brandi called it the "jackpot".

We finished off the tour with a "Utah original". The Training Table.
It was fun to have Brandi here. There was lots of laughing and story telling as usual. It's always nice to a get a good dose of "home" every now and again.

Lurks McGee

Confession. I lurk on blogs. I'm a straight up blog lurker.

There, I said it. It feels good to get that out there.

You see, sometimes your friends have friends that you've never met. But you hear stories about these other friends from your actual friend and you end up feeling like you know them a little bit. Then you see these names of the other friends linked on your actual friend's blog and, since you feel like you know them already, you click on it and read. (cough*every day*cough) The end result being that you feel like you know them even more than before, when in reality you still have never met them.

Where it gets tricky (and slightly creepy) is when your actual friend's other friends write about THEIR friends and the cycle starts all over again. The friend of the friend of the friend has a link and you click on that and start reading. And it spirals out of control.

Another form of lurking (that I frequently participate in) is when you actually know the person but you've never commented so they may not realize that you're reading. (cough*every day*cough)

The point of this confession: Last week I posted my first ever lurker comment. The friend of the friend of the friend wrote a post about seeing Michael Buble in NYC--what was I supposed to do? It's no secret that I'm 100% obsessed with MB. So, I did it.

And this is how I started it:
So...I'll start off by saying that I don't know you and you don't me and I'm sorry if it's creepy that I'm commenting on/reading your blog.

It probably made it even more creepy that I acknowledged how creepy it really was. Oopsy daisy.

Anyway, I don't have any intention of stopping. I will lurk and lurk to my heart's content.
