Aloooo-ha!

We made it back from Hawaii safely, but I haven't slept since we got in at 8:30 am (which is 4:30 am Hawaii time) so I'm just going to give you a little teaser and head off to bed.

The trip was FANTASTIC and I'm a little sad to be home. The only thing I'm looking forward to is sleeping in my own bed...alone (no offense Lindsay!) :)

I wouldn't mind being able to see this every day...

They're Back!

Rob & Big are back May 22nd!!

I saw the commercial last night while I was watching Inferno 3 (still love it) and had a little bit of a freak out! I'm sure Lindsay thought there was a mouse in my room or my arm had just fallen off or something.

Me: "Lindsay! Lindsay! Ahhh!!"
L: "What?...WHAT?!"
Me (as I'm running down the hallway): "Rob & Big are back on May 22nd!" Jumping up and down with my hands in the air Rocky-style. "Woohoo! Yeah, baby!"
L: "I'm very happy for you, Steph."

Clearly she didn't care. But I saw the previews after the Inferno and was already laughing out loud. It doesn't get any better.

Bonzai Birthday

A couple weekends ago Lindsay, Jill and I went out for Jill's birthday. We attempted Benihana's but they wouldn't seat us because we weren't wearing ugly white tuxes or some variety of a red dress (it was prom night). Instead we headed down to the Bonzai, which is essentially the same thing.

Every restaurant has their own rendition of "Happy Birthday", but this one might be my favorite.

Nothing says "Happy Birthday!" like a gong, a tambourine and a table full of people who don't know your name!

Lady in Red

How do you feel about my new red dress?

Prego...Who Knew?

I went shopping with my sister-in-law on Saturday and decided to pick up an extra swimsuit for Hawaii (which, by the way, is in 4 days!). I opted for a one-piece and there was a fairly cute black one on the rack. I picked a size, tried it on and it was a little too small (shocker). So in true Stephanie shopping fashion, I went to the rack to pick up a bigger size and be on my way without trying it on again. I couldn't find my size on the original rack, but Amanda found one on the rack behind me. Brilliant.

I tried it on last night and was surprised to find that it was too big. Much bigger than I would have expected knowing how the other one fit. Lindsay said she could work her magic on it and I had no objections. After a few minutes she called me into the room and directed my attention to the tag. There, in very large letters, it read, "Maternity". It all made sense.

I guess I could be mistaken for five months preggers, so Lindsay did a snip-snip here and a snip-snip there and we're in business!

Disappointment

Last night was a special two hour Grey's Anatomy and it was the first time I've ever wanted an episode to end. It was painfully boring. Too much California, not enough Seattle Grace. I like Addison as a supporting character, but she can't carry a show. There is no way I'll be watching Private Practice (or whatever they're going to call it).

In other TV-related news, it was announced on Thursday that the last Gilmore Girls episode will air on May 15th. I'm a little relieved because it hasn't been good, but I just couldn't give up on it.

Next season I'll have a Tuesday night time slot open. Any suggestions?

Gone.

I just ate the last package of my "Finding Nemo" fruit snacks. Bummer.

I Still Love Technology

How great is watching TV online? Technology is a beautiful thing.

It's 8:30 pm and I'm stuck at work finishing a brainless, mundane project. The good news is I was able to catch up on a little TV while working--last week's episode of Ugly Betty on abc.com.

Brilliant.

Funniest Email Chain of the Day

Amanda to Team:
"Below is the explanation on these leads. Let me know if the client is ok to keep these or not."

RE: Stephanie:
"I’m sure you all were wondering what my opinion was…this sounds legit to me. I don’t see any reason why AU shouldn’t accept these leads."

RE: Lindsay:
"AU will accept these leads."

RE: Amanda:
"I feel like it’s the bachelor – AU will you except these leads?"

RE: Danny:
“If AU doesn’t accept these leads I don’t know what I’m going to do! I feel like AU and these leads really bonded over the last few days. They had a lot of one-on-one time and these leads are totally the prettiest. Plus these leads didn’t get drunk on their first day with AU and make an ass of themselves.”

Expectations Officially Exceeded

I will admit that I wasn't 100% excited about the Gwen Stefani concert last night. I'm a fan, but not a huge fan, so it wasn't like I was counting down the days. That being said, the show was pretty much fantastic!

Lady Sovereign was the first act. I thought she was 12 until she start rapping like a pro and throwing around the F-Bomb. Turns out she's a 20 year old, white, female, rapper from London. How awesome is that?! I couldn't understand 99% of what she said, but I kind of liked it.

Next up was Akon. Do I really need to say more? His hit song is "Smack That" and he couldn't keep his clothes on. No thanks.
(Although I have to admit I liked his song "Lonely". Don't tell.)

Then Gwen came out and dazzled us all! In case you were doubting her vocal abilities, the girl can sing! Fun costumes and great dancers to boot.

Highlights of the night:

  • The transvestite in line with his 75 year old grandma who had red/white old lady hair.
  • Tutu's, mini-skirts, feather boas, prom hair...you name it, we saw it.
  • The teenage boy in line wearing more foundation than I've ever worn in my life...combined.
  • The gangsta boys that new every word to every Akon song. They even stripped down to their wife-beaters when he did.
  • After "Hollaback Girl" Gwen said, "I wish you all could see yourselves out there. That was effing unbelievable." It pretty much was.
  • Getting beer spilled on me.
  • Three drunk, middle-aged women, not wearing enough clothing (one in bare feet), arm-in-arm, stumbling down the steps talking about calling a cab. (At least they didn't try and drive.)
All in all, a successful evening. I feel like I got my money's worth.
